    They’re still really good at some things. For example, they have more entrepreneurs – people who organise and operate businesses – than any other country in the world. About one of every 13 Americans is an entrepreneur, according to The Economist. That’s almost 7.5 percent of the population! The Netherlands isn’t too far behind in the ratio of entrepreneurs to population at large (about 6.5 percent). However, less than 4 percent of us Brits are entrepreneurs and less than 3 percent of the citizens of France, Sweden, and Germany are so inclined.

    When one of America’s favorite fast food chains unveiled a new product in Japan, some people wondered how long it would be before this fine innovation — a three-quarter pound, 1100 plus calorie serving of potatoes called Mega Fries— would reach our hungry shores.

    The number of people aged over 65 in work has reached a new record. 

    There are now over one million people in work aged 65 or over according to the latest statistics from the ONS. That represents nearly one in ten of the 65 and older population – more than double the proportion at the start of 2001. There has been a steadily rising trend, seemingly immune to the vagaries of the UK economy since the turn of the millennium.
